Trimble introduces TEKLA 2020 Structural BIM Software solutions
Trimble is pleased to introduce the latest versions of its Tekla software solutions for advanced Building Information Modelling (BIM), structural engineering and steel fabrication management: Tekla Structures 2020, Tekla Structural Designer 2020, Tekla Tedds 2020 and Tekla PowerFab 2020. Found at the heart of design and construction workflows, Tekla software enables the free flow of information, the creation of constructible models and improved collaboration, supporting the Constructible Process.
So, what do the new 2020 software releases have to offer? Tekla Structures 2020 delivers enhancements, improvements and new features, all of which enable a more efficient workflow; resulting in better productivity, increased mobility and collaboration across project teams. The update includes geometry improvements to enable easier modelling of complex shapes; better usability and control with concrete rebar detailing enhancements; quick and easy formworks modelling; improved hollow-core concrete detailing; and enhanced drawing tools, providing users with both speed and confidence.
The Tekla Structures 2020 Maintenance package now also includes Trimble ConnectTM, the cloud-based collaboration platform. This platform allows stakeholders to share, review, coordinate and comment on data-rich building models, drawings, schedules and other project information in real-time, whether from a laptop, desktop or mobile device. With Trimble Connect, constructible BIM data is extended to the field, helping to liberate data and improve coordination and project management. New functionalities and usability improvements within the platform now make it even easier for customers to get started with Trimble Connect.
Tekla Structural Designer 2020, Trimble’s structural analysis and design software, has introduced data-driven design, with a new direct link between Tekla Structural Designer and algorithmic modelling plugin Grasshopper. This enables users to explore different early-stage design alternatives quickly and easily.
This theme of interoperability is also present in Tekla Tedds 2020, the structural analysis and design calculation software, offering further integration with Tekla Structures and Tekla Structural Designer for convenient design management across both software solutions. As a result of this enhancement, Tekla Tedds calculations can be automatically associated with a variety of objects within Tekla Structures and Tekla Structural Designer.
What’s more, Trimble has introduced Tekla Structural Design suite, a new product bundle which includes both Tekla Tedds and Tekla Structural Designer and is accessed using cloud licensing. It provides customers with additional options for taking advantage of new product integrations.
Finally, Tekla PowerFab 2020, the management software developed exclusively for steel fabricators, now delivers improved production tracking, enhanced visualisation and streamlined project management on the go. It also offers fabricators with more flexibility when tracking parts through stations and routes on the shop floor, as well as the ability to track external processes, such as erection and assembly, which can be shared and viewed from the field with Trimble Connect.
