New Member: Bio-SIP™
Buildoffsite is excited to welcome Bio-SIP™ (Biological-based Structural Insulated Panels) as its newest member. Bio-SIP™ offers an innovative, eco-friendly solution for the construction industry, utilising post-consumer waste, such as recycled plastic bottles, for insulation cores, paired with natural fibre skins for structural facings. This approach provides a sustainable, energy-efficient alternative to traditional SIP panels, with a lifespan exceeding 60 years.
Sustainability is at the core of Bio-SIP™’s mission. By leveraging advanced technologies, they minimise environmental impact without compromising on quality. Each panel is made from over 2000 recycled plastic bottles and 88% waste materials delivery over an 87% reduction against traditional SIP panels.
Bio-SIP™ has achieved significant recognition for their work. They were finalists in the Buildoffsite Innovation Hub Challenge and have been shortlisted for the prestigious TBAT Innovation Challenge 2024. Bio-SIP™ will showcase their cutting-edge solutions at the National Space Centre in Leicester on October 9th, competing alongside the UK’s most innovative SMEs.
CEO, Joe Walsh said: “At Bio-SIP, we believe the future of construction should be both simple and sustainable. By using advanced materials made from recycled waste and natural fibres, we are not only building structures but reshaping the industry’s approach to sustainability. The buildings of tomorrow must be environmentally friendly, quick to assemble, and built to last — and Bio-SIP is leading that change.”
As Bio-SIP™ continues to drive progress in sustainable construction, BOS is proud to support their journey towards a greener future. Stay tuned for more updates as they work to transform the construction industry.
