Innovative partnership unveils future of low-carbon architectural precast products
Earlier this month, C-Probe and its strategic partner for BeNeLux & Germany (Binders for Concrete, B4C) undertook successful trials with Scholz and Convez to assess the capacity for C-Probe’s LoCem® geopolymer concrete and mortars to assimilate coloring pigments and structural polypropylene fibres into these mixes.
Taking advantage of LoCem® properties such as, the fire resistance to EN1363-1 to 1200C for over 5 hours and low carbon credentials offering a global warming potential (GWP) of only 0.109 according to EN15804 (Ecoinvent), these products can make a difference aesthetically, environmentally and in resilient performance.
The companies are aiming to launch a range of precast products for the architectural market and will showcase these formed samples at Betontage fair in Ulm (Bavaria) on 14-16 May 2024 (ask for Marc Witbreuk on behalf of Scholz color pigments, if you are visiting to view these samples close up).
Given the ease with which these products combine, then the partnership sees a great future for low carbon pigmented structural architectural precast products.
