Industry leaders gather for BOS Manifesto consultation
A diverse group of industry stakeholders and BUILDOFFSITE members met in Sheppard Robson’s Camden office on Thursday 18 July to discuss the relevance of the current Manifesto, Collaborating for Impact. Given we are celebrating the fact that it is 20 years since BOS was set up and a new Government is planning change it seemed timely.
Tom Kyle and Natalie Maximova from Sheppard Robson started proceedings with a joint presentation about the use and advantages of flat-pack offsite concrete for student residences on York University Campus and in Manchester. They were followed by keynote speaker Richard Lankshear from the Future Homes Hub with a presentation about issues and trends in the residential sector who then handed over to Grahan Clarke from Buro Happold who spoke about the DHLUC financed Digital Kit of Parts project.
After the presentations small groups discussed seven topics from the Manifesto in break out session with able support from the BOS and CIRIA staff. The output from these sessions is being collated to help members decide what BOS should be focusing on in expanding the adoption of MMC and Offsite when engaging Government and parliament. A revised draft Manifesto will be presented to members at our Christmas event before being published and shared with Government next Spring.
