A request for industry regarding COVID-19
Buildoffsite are proactively co-ordinating an industry wide response to the current COVID-19 crisis, working to establish a clearer picture of national and regional demand for additional ward space, isolation units etc. as required, with the aim of supporting the NHS trusts and Government in delivering the additional healthcare units through providing them a clearer picture of the current capacity & capability in the offsite manufacturing supply chain; which is naturally well positioned to react to, and deliver any requirement.
To aid us in our response we are looking to understand and collate the capacity in the UK manufacturing supply chain for both the UK and potentially European projects as part of an initiative by the European Commission (DG RTD) taskforce.
We want to hear from any & all facets of industry that can provide the following:
- Offsite building components (based on CAT 1, CAT 2, CAT 3 and CAT 5 UKÂ Government MMC Definitions Framework) that could help build quickly medical facilities both in the UK and overseas if required
- Mobile 3D printers, which could help hospitals with spare parts (e.g. valves for incubation)
- Modular production lines, that could be adapted to plug gaps in the interrupted value chain

Stay safe, stay well.
