How can we help develop and mentor designers in offsite construction?
Buildoffsite is organising a series of webinars focusing on aspects of our latest report “Accelerating the Evolution of Design Management in Construction – The COVID-19 effect” which was published in December.
The second of these will be held on the 14th January from 2pm to 3pm. It will take the form of several short panel member presentations followed by a Q&A session to respond to questions from the audience. The session will be introduced and facilitated by Nigel Fraser of Buildoffsite, the lead author of the report.
The theme of the second webinar will be “How can we help develop and mentor designers in offsite construction”?
We invite offsite supply chain members, designers and clients to participate in the session.
The panel will include 2 architects, from large and mid sized firms, a Buildoffsite Industry Advisor and Professor at Oxford Brookes University as well as a low carbon & sustainable products supplier which should provide a diverse range of views. This will primarily provide information client perspectives with an initial response from an offsite supplier to get the ball rolling.
The panel members will be:
- David Miller – David Miller Architects
- Nick Hacking – Sheppard Robson
- Prof. Nick Whitehouse MBE – Oxford Brookes University
- Graeme Jones – MD, C-Probe Group
This should be a good opportunity to help the sector respond to the needs of designers and to learn from each other.
We look forward to your contribution to the discussion.
An additional session is being arranged as part of the Buildoffsite MMC Conference on the 26th of January. That will involve a discussion around the use of Systems Engineering methods, as suggested in the report.
