​The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) is the world’s largest and most influential professional body for construction management and leadership. Established in 1834, CIOB has been promoting the science and practice of building and construction for the benefit of society for over 190 years. ​CIOB Academy

With a global membership of around 50,000 professionals across more than 100 countries, CIOB members are involved in the development, conservation, and improvement of the built environment. The institute provides a range of services, including membership, professional development, qualifications, and resources to support individuals and organizations in shaping the future of the built environment. ​CIOB

CIOB is committed to driving innovation, sustainability, and ethical practices within the construction industry. The institute offers various Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities through the CIOB Academy, such as the “An Introduction to Modern Methods of Construction” course.

Additionally, CIOB engages in research and partnerships to advance construction practices. Notably, the institute has formed a strategic partnership with MMC Ireland to promote modern methods of construction. ​

CIOB also hosts events to facilitate knowledge sharing and networking among construction professionals. An upcoming in-person event in Brighton, “Modern Methods, Smarter Building: BIM and Offsite Construction,” is open to both members and non-members. ​
