Building Safety Challenge Panel Session
The Building Safety Act is posing some interesting challenges for the construction industry. The requirement to submit full plans with applications for building control approval will have a major impact on the level of design required during the early stages of a project. One of the questions the panellists will be asked during this session is “Do Offsite and MMC offer any benefits and advantages over traditional construction methods, or will it prove the opposite?”. Platform design and the use of standard components will be one means of providing more detailed information earlier.
The panellists for this session include Jennifer Charlson from the Infrastructure Projects Authority who has co-authored the recently published Lessons from Grenfell Tower: The new building safety regime.
