Buildoffsite Seminars and Workshop Sessions 2017

In collaboration with The OFFSITE CONSTRUCTION SHOW and with support from the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), Buildoffsite is delighted to host a Programme of Seminars and Workshops at The Offsite Construction Show 2017. Featuring expert speakers drawn from across the industry, the Seminars will take place in the Buildoffsite Theatre (B51). There is no pre-booking – sessions are free to attend, with seats available on a first come, first served basis.

The Workshops, will be hosted in the Workshop Theatre, adjacent to the Buildoffsite Exhibition Stand (C52). Spaces will be limited. To attend a workshop, please register your interest in advance, by selecting the links provided in the workshop sessions.

 

DAY 1 – WEDNESDAY 11 OCTOBER 2017

Seminar Sessions

Taking Steps to Modernise Construction through Collaboration, Innovation and Education

Learn how 3 companies; TDS, Design4Structures and Cadcoe (the Construction and Design Centre of Excellence), are making headway to modernize the construction industry. Hear from group MD Daniel Leech on his approach to drive change through collaborative working using the latest in digital technology, whilst working towards reducing the projected skills shortage, through industry specific and relevant training. Having already attracted the attention of Mark Farmer, for his work through Cadcoe, Dan will share with you his tips for best practice in ensuring as businesses we are able to face the external factors putting the industry at risk

Daniel cares passionately about improving the construction industry. Having spent 17 years in the sector, he develops new initiatives with a clarity of vision that helps drive the group forward. As Managing Director at TDS Group, he is proud to have worked on some of the most significant buildings in the London skyline. Committing to BIM as an early adopter has seen TDS Group grow to include a training academy offering free training to employers, and a Digital Engineering business helping partners construct better buildings. The drive to make the industry collaborative through BIM practices, upskilled for growth and sustainable for future generations has seen Daniel become an active and passionate member of Buildoffsite.

With over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry with a variety of blue chip companies, David has acquired an extensive understanding of how a building is designed and constructed. David specialises in applying his expertise and market knowledge in addressing new opportunities in an ever-changing industry.
